Metrics that are easy to misuse

This URL used to sell a quantitative enterprise model, a fake $2.75 million save, and an LLM Python script. That was the factory. The address stays because the search phrase is useful: people misuse metrics. I’m Mostapha. I buy and sell names from Morocco. I have dressed a leftover in DR, PPC “replacement cost,” and a spreadsheet so it would look like an asset. It was still a leftover.

Start with the letters: Domain Value Checker. How those lines are weighted: how we score. FAQ. Human order after that: a range, not a guarantee, and what actually determines value.

Metrics that lie politely

  • DR / DA / “trust.” Not a price. That page. Inherited links are not a second appraisal: link folklore.
  • Traffic and PPC replacement. Hits on junk are not a company: that argument. What Google Ads would charge to rank a different site does not transfer at escrow.
  • DCF and “financial engineering.” There is no cash flow on a parked hyphen. Real automated valuation still needs a market. Ours is a string heuristic, not a fund model: you are not a PE fund.
  • AI yield / GPT appraisals. Not a reason to buy. Delete any script a blog told you to run against GPT to “price domains.”

Sold prices on NameBio and reports on DNJournal are neighbors, not twins. Asks on Sedo are not sales. Record names in the million-dollar club are outliers: what those sales actually show.

Metrics

Metrics that still earn a look

Extension and length (the checker). Whether a stranger can say it. History you can explain: snapshots, not a backlink detox: a graph is not history. Trademarks: WIPO UDRP. Who is on record: ICANN Lookup.

If the name is expired, age is not a coupon: letters, not age. If the pitch is “authority,” it is often poison: SEO treasures.

Decision

  1. Checker. Weak letters → ignore the rest of the dashboard.
  2. History + marks. Any frown → walk.
  3. Comps last, to bound wholesale vs retail. Then one ask: before you sell / before you buy.

Keep the Google row. High-ticket quantitative appraisals were the old cologne. The useful deconstruction is: most metrics are costumes. The letters are not.
