Old guides on this URL promised five easy ranking fixes: flatten redirects, kill 404s, polish titles, speed the theme up, and resubmit a sitemap. Those are webmaster chores. HTTP status codes are public on IANA’s list and MDN’s status overview. A 404 on a lander is rude. It does not turn a leftover string into a brand, and fixing five of them does not create a comparable sale.
I’m Mostapha. I buy and sell names from Morocco. I have spent evenings “making a domain rank” instead of asking whether anyone would buy the letters. That question is the Domain Value Checker, not a sitemap. FAQ. A full crawl still is not an appraisal: we already said so.
What those five fixes actually do
They make a site less broken. If you operate a shop, you will keep, do them on a copy, not on the hostname you might sell. If you are holding inventory, a 404 on /wp-login is irrelevant. A buyer types the apex. They want to know if the name is for sale, not whether tag page 47 returns 200.
On-page title tricks do not set price either: that argument. Speed work rarely reprices the string: that one. Redirect chains can make a clean name look dirty if you “fix SEO” by welding junk on: don’t.
A ranking project that hides a bad buy
The dangerous sequence is: buy a hyphenated leftover, apply five fixes, screenshot Search Console, and list at retail. The checker already knew. Metrics were the costume. Same class of error as treating inherited links as a second appraisal: link folklore. If the past is the product, a new 200 OK does not launder it: a new site does not launder an old domain.
If you still want comps, they live in sold prices, not in fixed crawl errors. We point investors at the string first: what actually determines value.
When a “fix” is allowed before a sale
- Apex loads. One hop to HTTPS. Mail works; don’t break MX.
- Nothing embarrassing (malware, installer, doorway). Otherwise, park.
- Registrar locked. Host move is not an unlock: that page.
That is courtesy for a buyer, not a ranking strategy. Price the letters: before you sell. If you are still bidding, checker before you buy a seller’s “we fixed technical SEO” is not a comp.

Decision
Five ranking fixes are a webmaster afternoon. A domain’s price is a different object. Run the checker. If the name is leftover, skip the afternoon. If it is strong, keep the public URL boring and sell the name, not the checklist.
