The first email to a domain buyer (and the ones you should never send)

I’m Mostapha. I buy and sell names from Morocco. I have sent a novel. Nobody replied. The first email is not a pitch deck and not the checker pasted into Gmail. It is four lines a stranger can answer without a lawyer. Score the name first: how we score. Know which room you are in: wholesale vs retail. Then write. Before you sell is the list price. This page is the knock on the door.

Who you are allowed to write

A company that could use the name as their door, not as a ransom. Find a public contact: the site’s /contact, a personal LinkedIn that already talks about the product, a broker if you listed. Registrant email via ICANN Lookup is often privacy-wrapped. That is not a reason to scrape ten thousand inboxes.

Do not write the famous brand whose mark the string resembles. That email is evidence, not sales: UDRP. WIPO’s domain disputes page is the shape of that fight. Leftovers do not get outbound. Drop them. Why books fail.

If best-ai-tools-online.com is the name, there is no buyer to email. If zenpay.com is the name, a payments shop is a maybe. Three pastes: live valuations.

The letter

Subject: the domain, nothing cute.

Hi [Name],

I own [domain]. It is a short .com a [payments / local shop / travel] team could put on a card.

Similar names have sold in the [ballpark from NameBio]. I’m asking [number inside a range I can defend], transfer through escrow.

If it is not useful, ignore this. If you want to talk, reply with a number or a no.

domain

Neighbors you can actually cite: NameBio, how to read a comp. Close with a grown-up door, not a cousin’s PayPal: Escrow.com. A marketplace listing is not the email: Sedo can sit in the background.

Do not attach the full report. Do not say “AI valued this at.” Do not threaten to sell to a competitor. Do not follow up four times in a week. One reminder after ten quiet days. Then stop.

If nobody answers

The name is still a lander, not a failed personality. Wholesale might be the only room. History still matters before you keep pushing: snapshots. When the box was optimistic: when the checker is wrong. Next article is the lander itself. Until then, one ask, one inbox, one escrow path.

Decision

Checker. Marks. One sentence buyer. Four-line mail. Escrow. If you cannot write the mail without flattering yourself, you are not selling. You are collecting. Keep the Google row.
