A name that can still work after you grow

I’m Mostapha. I buy and sell names from Morocco. The old slug promised seven proven strategy tips. The useful job is smaller: pick letters you can still wear when the shop is no longer a one-product stall. First-name-for-a-company is the twin page: startup naming. This one is the trap of a name that worked in year one and embarrasses you in year four.

Domain Value Checker on every candidate. Read pronunciation and brand, not only dollars. How we score. FAQ. Psychology: why names stick.

What does not scale

  • Hyphens, digits-for-letters, “clever” vowels you have to spell twice.
  • A keyword cage: cheap + city + product. You add a second product and the name lies.
  • Five spellings so “someone finds you”: two names, one business.
  • A fashion TLD you will outgrow into a .com you do not own: choose the ending they already type.
  • A mark you hoped nobody would notice: UDRP.

Intent mismatch is the same object: if the name says one business and you do another, the metric will not save it: that page. Generator piles: not automatically worth buying.

What still works in year four

Sayable. Trusted ending. History you can explain: snapshots. Broad enough for a second product, specific enough to remember. Five factors: the string plus demand. If you are buying to flip later, that is a spread on letters others want not a cage: flipping.

Price from a range: not a guarantee. Neighbors: NameBio. Then lock it like a keeper: security 101, renew early.

Decision

  1. Radio test. Fail → delete the row.
  2. Checker + history + marks.
  3. Ask: will I still print this if we add a product or a city? If no, you are buying a stall sign, not a name. Before you buy.

Keep the Google row. Seven tips were a listicle. The strategy is one: do not pick a name you will have to explain, then replace.
